Buoy oh Buoy, did we have fun in Maine!

Hello my friends, hope you had a wonderful weekend!
We have had a fabulous time in New England and soon will be boarding a plane heading home.

All of the locals told us that the best seafood was in Maine, so off we went.

Buoy did we ever have a fun day!

We tried our first whole lobster and steamers, (steamed clams).

Buoy was it ever delicious!

I must admit, I prefer eating just the tail.  Less messy, but we had to try it at least once!

There were a lot of lighthouses, but we only visited the Nubble in the town of York.

It was also our first time to dip our toes, (really our fingers) into the Atlantic ocean.

Buoy was it ever cold!

I'll end with this bounty of beauty that was outside of the restaurant that we ate at.

 hugs,
Jann

Beautiful photos, Jann. I would love to return to Maine, and from the look of your images, the fall would be a lovely time to plan a trip. Thanks for taking us along. Wonderful way to start my day!

The colorful buoys look so pretty and cheerful and it looks like the weather was just perfect. Wow! This is a quite remarkable pumpkin. I guess someone had entered a contest with this huge baby.

My dad grew up on the water in New England. He loved growing up there. Especially the lighthouses. Your pictures are absolutely wonderful.

Jann, it looks like just my kind of trip! I'm an east coast girl and the pictures made me a bit homesick for the Atlantic:)So glad you go to experience the northeast. I also love lighthouses, I think they're such a neat part of history! xoKathleen

Maine is gorgeous! I would love to return for a visit some day. I tried a whole lobster when I lived in New England and while yummy, so much work and a mess! Fun to try!

Buoy, you two are having a great trip to the northeast. I love the photos of the Maine coast and all they buoy decorations, especially the ones along the veranda roof of that lovely house. And you can't go wrong with lobster. Messy to eat but so delicious! Wonderful photos! We didn't get to Maine this year mainly because of our low Canadian dollar. :( Maybe next summer things will be better and we may just go anyway because we love it there! Have a great week Jann!

I am a buoy lover from way back so that picture just made me grin!

We had the same dinner at a neighbor's house tonight for his 60th birthday. The tables had plastic covers and then newspaper. They just tossed shrimp, sausages, corn on the cob, potatoes, crab, and lobster on the table and we all dug in - 50 of us! It was so much fun.

Jann, you made me miss home so much just looking at these photos...being from Nova Scotia Canada, Maine is very similar in scenery! There is nothing like seafood from the Atlantic Ocean! No seafood here in Illinois! ;)
It looks like you had an amazing vacation and got to see some amazing sights.
I laughed when said the ocean was cold...back home we may get to swim in it 'comfortably' one week in the summer! ;)
Loved the buoy photos.

Glad I could vacation with you vicariously! I love your photos...you have such an eye. But didn't you tell Joanne today that you didn't go to York? She kept asking and you said no...lol! Fun lighthouse...in York! Had such fun with you today being witches. Friends and Fall...who could ask for more?

I love the Nubble lighthouse! For years I had a photo of this lighthouse as my computer screensaver, as I thought it looked so picturesque. I was so excited to see it in person a few years ago. I miss Maine lobster! I was able to buy it easily in NY, but not here in CO
