What Time is it?

Here in Utah it’s Cherry Picking time.  That’s right, the sweet juicy fruit is about ready to be plucked from the tree.

Ripe and Ready

I thought I would go out on a limb and pull out my cherry décor.

Speaking of going out on a limb, did you pick cherries when you were younger?  I did and boy did I love climbing to the top of the trees with bucket in hand to gather that red juicy fruit!

I think Life is so SWEET, just like a bowl full of cherries!

A Bowl full of cherries

There is nothing quite as tasty as a bowl of sweet cherries.

Notice, no cherries yet?  I think I need to head to the market and remedy that.

Growing up we had a pie cherry tree in our backyard and our mother made delicious pies.  Us girls would even climb up into the tree and eat that sour fruit.

I can’t (weight) until I have a cherry pie!

Old or new, I love scales.  Except for the ones that weigh me of course.

I have dishes ready and waiting for when the pie comes out of the oven.

IMG_6776

My cherry dishes are a sweet thrift store find.

IMG_6777

Look at these darling cherry pot holders my friend, Kathy crocheted. Almost too cute to use.  I have asked her to make me a pair for part of my next give away.  SWEET!

IMG_6789

And wouldn’t some cherry lemonade taste great right about now?

IMG_6783

I have glasses waiting to be filled.

IMG_6782

I hope you had a sweet tour of my kitchen décor today and will want to join me tomorrow.  I will be sharing my kitchen table.

How Sweet it is!

Are you still here?  What are you waiting for, the pie to come out of the oven? lol!  Sorry, no pie today.

IMG_6786

I will be making pie on Tuesday but it will be pecan and maybe a coconut cream; psst, don’t tell the cherries.

Did you notice how much fun I had making collages with picmonkey?  Love this new program! I even made a new header for my blog. Thanks Shannon from Fox Hollow Cottage for giving me the heads up.

Hugs,

Jann

Sooo cute Jann!... our home when I was a little girl growing up in Bountiful was in the middle of a cherry orchard... we had Tartarian cherries and my mama made the best pies in the world!... and yes, you could find me quite often way up high in a cherry tree!... we also picked cherries for the farmer who owned alot of the orchard by us and we got 50 cents a day... we thought we were rich!... I want some of your pie NOW!... I bet you make a fabulous one... I just love all of your cute cherry collectibles!... and I love cherry time in Utah!... xoxo Julie Marie

Lovely as always Jann. I love all of your cherry decor and I did spot those jadeite measuring cups (I've got to find me some of those).

Lovely post, Jann! Your collection of cherry dishes are cute. Now, I am wishing I had some sweet cherries to eat. Have a wonderful week!

You are well prepared for the first cherries of the season. I remember picking some at an elderly relatives home when I was a child, but since have bought them at the store or farmers market. The produce market I went to this weekend had a big display of them, but I did not check them out.
Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

I love all your cherries! But I am not waiting for the pie...don't tell the cherries, but I only like them fresh - NOT in a pie!

What a sweet cherry collection.
There is nothing like a 'real' homemade sherry pie, is there?
Oh, coconut cream pie is my favorite.

You have such a great collection of cherry treasures! Would it be silly if I said cherries are so cheerful? They are! lol There's just something so happy about them.

Hi Jann!

All your cherry accessories made for such a delightful post today. I can't believe how much you have! I adore that pretty beverage crock thingy and those measuring cups.

I can't imagine any nicer than sitting in your kitchen, eating cherry pie... and of course having a cup of coffee!

I love all you cherry dishes and accessories! I used to love picking cherries, too. We had two trees of them on the farm...just at the end of the clothes lines.

Did you know that we live in the Cherry Capital of the Midwest? xo Diana

It's like cherry heaven at your place, so many cute things. My mother never baked a cherry pie and I haven't either - maybe I should try one.
I'm so happy PicMonkey added the collage now too.

What a lot of pretty cheery cherries!
We have a sweet cherry tree, and every year it's a race between me and the birds.

Hi Jann! Thank you for joining my Beautiful Sunday. It made me happy. Unfortunately, we don't have cherries in my country. The most that we have here are strawberries which are grown and harvested in Baguio, a province like almost 5 hours away from the city :) What we have here are imported cherries in supermarkets.

You have lovely cherry pieces there. I particularly love the mini cherry jar. How cute :)

Have a great week ahead Jann. Thanks again.

Wonderful post! I didn't like picking cherries when I was little...disliked pitting them even more, but one must suffer for the taste of a cheery cherry pie![sigh!] Cathy

Such a lovely cherry post. You have a nice collection and it looks so summery. Pic Monkey is so easy. Why can't the other sites be that way? easy.. They also have some pretty hand written fonts.

This is the sweetest post Jann! Love your cherry theme dishware. We have cherries at the market right now, so I have been eating a little bowlful every day. I have heard that cherries are supposed to be good for combating inflamation...not sure if this is true, but for a girl with lupus, it is worth a try.

How I adore all your cherries. I love the Ranier ones after a trip to WA. They are for sale on all the corners up there. You have such a great collection though and I am envious. Your link was messed up so I fixed it. Thanks for coming over to the party. Have a great week.

Visiting from Sunny's party -- what lovely cherry goodies you have!! We lived in Washington State a few years when our children were little and we U-Picked cherries every year. I loved having the frozen cherries for use all year, not to mention cherry jam, cherry pie and dried cherries :)

OMG! I LOVE cherry things...where did you get all yours? Maybe it's easier to collect when you live in a "cherry" state? You have some beautiful things...I'll take it all! LOL! I love cherries..sweet, sour whatever. We had a cherry tree and I made cherry pies and oh what I wouldn't give for fresh pie cherries! At least my children have good memories of those pies. Your kitchen must be so cozy and homey with all those cherry things in it. Those other pies didn't sound half bad either! YUM!

I can see that you adore cherries...cherries of all kinds, what fun stuff! I never knew that Utah even grew cherries. My husby used to do the same kind of thing when he was a boy. He loves them! I like mine folded into desserts...a lot;')~

I'll need to join you at your place for my cherry fix this year. With the unseasonable warm weather Michigan had in March, our fruit trees started to bud too early and there was a lot of damage done to our state's cherry and apple trees when the temperatures returned to normal later in the season.

You put together some great photos!

Visiting from the Bunny Hop.
